Bibles on the way to Sierra Leone and Liberia
|
Bibles
In July T2S began collecting Bibles from local churches to send to Sierra Leone and Liberia. There were many churches that partnered with T2S, and we are grateful for their support. Our plan in the beginning was to collect enough Bibles to load one pallet, about 1,000 Bibles and ship them. Equipping the Saints ministry has been instumental in the collection and shipping of the Bibles. Equipping the Saints believed the most cost effective way was to fill a 20 foot shipping container with Bibles. This would significantly reduce the cost of shipping. However, this required many Bibles in order to fill the container. Over the last 4 months the Lord multiplied Bibles that were being donated. Three weeks ago we realized that a 20 foot container was now to small! There were at least 27,000 Bibles that were ready to be shipped. We are very thankful for the storage space that was given to T2S by Roto Rooter of Staunton VA. They graciouly gave us free space to store, load, and ship from their warhouse. On Novemeber 17, a group of faithful men and women from numerous churches came together and hand loaded every box of Bibles into a 40 foot shipping container. T2S wants to thank all those who gave and also labored with us to get God's Word into the hands of those who have never owned their own Bible. The container is now at the Port waiting to be shipped within the next few days. |
Recent Trip to Sierra LeoneSierra Leone Master Trainers In October, leadership from T2S traveled to Sierra Leone to meet with master trainers there and see some of the work that is ongoing. We were met there by the lead trainers from Liberia and Senegal. The leadership in Sierra Leone among the master trainers is excellent. Over the last two years they have become a model of how to use Tree of Life to develop and train disciples that are making disciples. We traveled to four villages with churches less than two months old that were planted by master trainers. We had the privilege of watching the trainers baptize one hundred and thirty-seven new believers from those four churches. It is difficult to explain all that the Lord is doing there; it is beyond words. We praise the Lord for how He is multiplying His Kingdom for His glory. T2S wants to thank all those who have prayed for and supported the work in West Africa. Without this support we would not be able to train and send indigenous missionaries to where the Gospel has not yet gone. |
