Sierra Leone (2 Year Update)For who has despised the day of small things? (Zechariah 4:10a) In December of 2020, T2S began training disciples in Sierra Leone. We were blessed with exceptional national partners there who had the vision and heart to reach their people for Christ. The photo above is the graduation picture of the small group of the first master trainers in Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone has a population of just over eight million. It is listed in the top ten of the most impoverished nations, with 98% of its population living off a daily wage of $5.50. Thirty-nine percent of the country remains untouched by the gospel, along with eleven unreached people groups. Only 3.9% of the population is Evangelical Christians. It is a country that has been torn by civil war and Ebola. With the many obstacles and difficulties that plague this nation, these first trainers took the gospel and training throughout the country. The leaders began to organize networks of master trainers with a big vision of reaching all places with the gospel. T2S continued alongside them, helping with resources when needed. This month we received a report from the trainers about how the Lord is working throughout the country just in the past two months. In the words of our lead trainer there, "Brother to the glory and honor of our great Jesus Christ, here is the most recent report from Sierra Leone of what the Holy Spirit has enabled our master trainers and trainees to do across the country in the last two months: 1. Number of people to whom the gospel was shared meaningfully (14,809) 2. Those who heard the gospel and accepted Jesus as Lord (4,258) 3. Number of people baptized (887) 4. Number of people trained (1,000) 5. New home cells established (44) 6. New churches (15) Brother the storm of the Holy Spirit is strongly blowing and am grateful to God for what he is doing." What started as just thirty master trainers two years ago, God has multiplied into a harvest that is now difficult to track. Where the training goes the gospel also goes. Sierra Leone has now become the training hub for English speaking West Africa. Through master trainers in Sierra Leone, we have been able to launch the training in Liberia and Ghana. We will, with the Lord's help, use these trainers to begin training in English speaking Uganda this fall. We want to thank those who have prayed and financially supported T2S throughout this time. We are very grateful for your partnership. The Lord has used your support to multiply His kingdom. |
